It’s been announced that K.Will and Homme would be the musical guests for Wheesung and Kim Taewoo’s first duo concert, ‘2011 Two Man Show – Soul Twins‘!
The concert will run from August 12th to the 13th in the city of Yang Il at Olympic Hall. Reportedly, Wheesung himself asked the two guests to appear at the concert.
Fans are said to be excited by the news, as all of the singers involved are known to be close friends. Considering how Wheesung, Kim Taewoo, K.Will, and Homme are all known to be powerhouse vocalists, this concert is certainly shaping up to be quite the musical event!

Bang Yong Guk releases jacket photo for “I Remember” feat. B2ST’s Yoseob On August 9, 2011

TS Entertainment has just released a ‘Transformers’ themed jacket photo for Bang Yong Guk’s upcoming solo debut single, “I Remember,” which features B2ST’s Yoseob.
In addition, we’ve just learned that the track was jointly composed by Bang Yong Guk and One Way’s Chance!
TS Entertainment told allkpop regarding the ‘Transformers’ themed photo, “It’s to portray the powerful collaboration between Bang Yong Guk and Yoseob, transformed together, it will be a song which will shock the world.”
This song will only be released as a digital single, so this jacket photo was just created as a gift to fans.
“I Remember” will be released on August 12th, so stay tuned to allkpop for more information!

Previously, we reported on Won Bin and Moon Geun Young’s photoshoot for apparel brand Basic House’s F/W collection. Additional photos have been revealed through an online community forum, under the title, “Won Bin? Moon Geun Young, already winter?”.
In the revealed pictures, Won Bin and Moon Geun Young are seen rocking chic parkas and winter prints. To reflect the casual look of the brand, Won Bin’s hair was styled to seem effortlessly messy, while Moon Geun Young is seen with a short bob.
Netizens commented, “Moon Geun Young is so cute” and “It looks like an everyday photoshoot for Won Bin.”

Jaejoong’s accessories receive high bids through auction On August 9, 2011

JYJ Jaejoong’s accessories have received bids of over $1,000 USD.
SBS is currently running ‘Star Sharing Auction‘ in which the main characters from SBS drama’s, “Protect the Boss”, “Scent of a Woman”, “Miss Ahjumma”, and “Warrior Baek Dong Soo”, have donated personal items to be put up for auction.
Out of all the items in the auction, Jaejoong’s necklace and bracelet have received the most attention. The auction for the accessories started at approximately $200 USD on August 3rd, and the bids have risen to more than $1000 USD, as of August 8th. The auction for Jaejoong’s accessories will end on September 30th.
Another item of interest was the jacket of Warrior Baek Dong Soo’s star, Yoo Seung Ho. The jacket’s starting price was about $80 USD on July 4th, and the current bid is around $400 USD. The jacket auction will end on the 31st.

[Review] ‘Mr. Simple’ by Super Junior On August 9, 2011

Super Junior are professionals at melting entire K-Pop communities to bubbling puddles of goo. They hold more power in the palm of their hands than most boy bands combined, and so it comes as no surprise that news of their comeback completely dominated the international K-Pop community. Needless to say, the concept (as wacky as it may be) served its purpose – to grab all eyes and ears towards Super Junior like moths to a neon-colored flame.
With the release of ‘Mr. Simple‘, Super Junior’s fifth studio album, consider yourself jet-packing to the light and getting fried.
Their image was loud and eclectic, bold and bewildering. It left me wondering, how would this album actually sound? Is it as coo-coo bananas as what I’m looking at?

Record number of fans attend FT Island’s Mezamashi Live event On August 9, 2011

FT Island recently topped a record previously set by Big Bang as their popularity sky rockets in Japan.
On August 7th, FT Island made their first appearance on Japan’s Mezamashi Live Event hosted by Fuji TV and has set a record for the number of people attending the event. The maximum capacity was set at 2,000 audience members but nearly 40,000 fans came to see the boys of FT Island perform.
This concert garnered even more interest because the number of audience who gathered for FT Island’s concert had topped the record audience number for Big Bang’s concert.
During the concert, FT Island started the performance with their newest single, “LET IT GO” and followed it with songs such as “FLOWER ROCK“, “Brand-new days“, and “Boom Boom Boom“.
FT Island has been setting many records in Japan such as being the first foreign artist to become number one on the Oricon weekly charts with their first debut album and selling out in all five cities in a matter of days after announcing their concert tour in Japan. Their tickets for Budokan solo concert also sold out in just 2 minutes after going on sale.
Meanwhile, FT Island is planning their Asia tour after holding their concert in AX-Korea on August 20th and 21st.

‘1 Night 2 Days’ cast meets former Korean MLB pitcher Park Chan Ho On August 9, 2011

Through an overseas trip, the cast of ‘1 Night 2 Days’, along with two members chosen through a radio mission, met former Korean MLB pitcher Park Chan Ho (Chan Ho Park) in Japan for the first time in a long while. Park Chan Ho is currently a pitcher for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan.
Park Chan Ho and ‘1 Night 2 Days’ have a history because the former pitcher appeared as the very first special guest on the show.
Park Chan Ho, who has been continuing to exercise abroad, intends to meet ‘1 Night 2 Days’ if he stays in Korea after the completion of his season in Japan.
One person stated, “We traveled abroad for one night and two days. We had a fun time with Park Chan Ho, whom we haven’t seen in a while. He even cheered on the members in hopes that they will get a good response.
The specific contents of what happened during the recording will be revealed through the broadcast of the episode. Considering how long it’s been since we’ve met Park Chan Ho, it will be a different experience.”
The episode is slated to air on the 14th.

Super Junior member Yesung has revealed a photo showing a “baby” version of Super Junior.
On August 5th, Yesung tweeted: “These kids .. turned into Super Junior ^^ Working Hard today too!!”
Along with this tweet, he posted a photo of the various Super Junior members as babies on top of the cover of their “Mr. Simple” album.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk reveals past photo of Lee Soo Man On August 6, 2011

Super Junior’s youthful leader, Leeteuk revealed past photos of President Lee Soo Man.
On August 5th, Leeteuk tweeted,”Super Junior’s 5th album comeback! Teacher Lee Soo Man! We want to take pictures in a cool car just like you! Thank you!” along with a jacket album photo of Lee Soo Man’s past musical career.
In the picture, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man is seen posing while sitting inside a green car. It garnered interest because the picture depicted a younger and a fresher image of Lee Soo Man, a very different representation than his current image. The picture seemed to be a album jacket and the title was listed as, ‘Golden Hit Album.
Netizens upon seeing the photo commented, “I just laughed out loud in this peaceful afternoon because of you, oppa“, “Teacher Lee Soo Man, I want to become a successful singer like you“, “Chairman Lee Soo man, the 5th album is going to be a hit right?”
Meanwhile, Super Junior has officially started their 5th album activities on the show, KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank‘ with their title song, “Mr. Simple“.

SHINee’s fan parody CF receives attention On August 6, 2011

A parody video, made by fans, is attracting attention for their clever rendition of the SHINee’s 2009 Oddugi noodle snack advertisement.
This comical video was uploaded on August 5th, on a internet cafe and was titled, “Remake of SHINee’s snack ad by SHINee fans!”
In the video, five fan girls are wearing masks with the faces of the SHINee members and are imitating the the same moves in the original advertisement. The video had received many views especially because the video editing was very similar to the original.
Netizens who came across this parody video commented, “I hope SHINee gets to see this!“, “It’s fun to watch anytime. This video was very well made“, “Your skills are amazing! The best~!” and “Is it true that you guys went to college with this video?“.
Meanwhile, SHINee is working on the ending theme song for a Japanese-Korean-Chinese co-produced drama titled “Strangers 6”

Super Junior’s Kangin helps out in flood recovery On August 6, 2011

Super Junior’s panda bear, Kangin (26; Kim Youngwoon) enlisted in the army last July and recently made a public appearance.
Currently in the military as a active-duty soldier, Kangin committed to supporting the flood recovery from July 28th to August 2nd.

According to a military official, the Hyungchon Village in Seoul was the area where Kangin and his group were assigned to. This area had been damaged the most from the recent storm and was put under intensive flood recovery operation; nearly 300-400 soldiers were assigned to support the citizens in this particular area.
During this operation, soldiers had to go down to the basement and dig up the mud themselves without the use of equipment; the soldiers worked hard all throughout the weekend to help out in the recovery.

Meanwhile, Kangin, who had voluntarily enrolled into the army after admitting guilt to his DUI and assault charges, didn’t hesitate in going into the dirty mud water and even took the initiative according to his fellow soldiers.
A military official stated, “In Kangin’s case, there was the possibility of some trouble because he is older than most of the soldiers who are also higher than him in ranking. But he’s getting along with the others very well and acts as the youngest soldier of the group”. He also added that he wishes that Kangin will safely finish whats left of his military service and succeed in making his comeback as a singer.

DJ DOC’s Kim Chang Ryul dressed up as a girl and showed his love for J. Y. Park (JYP) .
On July16th, the “2011 DJ DOC Poolside Party” was hosted at Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. At this party, DJ DOC entertained the crowd by even dressing up as girls to parody SECRET and Beyonce.
Kim Chang Ryul posted the photo above through his Twitter and stated, “The second day of DOC poolside party, and we’re still going strong ^^ Next to JYP, who gave the best performance yesterday, is his lover kk”.
Kim Chang Ryul is wearing a headband in the photo, posing as if he is trying to kiss J. Y. Park on his cheeks, whereas J. Y. Park’s is showing a disgusted face, leaning away to avoid him. Some netizens reacted to the photo, “your side profile is amazing”, “you’re pretty, obba”, “face is so real”.
